Mentoring - beginners 

I want to know why you want to make a documentary. We brainstorm and discuss your ideas and what type of documentary - genre you are inspired to create.

I follow an A - Z , step-by-step guidance using The 4 Ps: Documentary film production structure: Pre-production, Production, Post-production and Promotion. 

We discuss rhythm and structure, visual documentary storytelling, narratives, how to organize material. How to research, conduct interviews, write and adapt the synopsis and, of course, later edit and output your work.

Experienced filmmakers and undergraduates, graduates

I mainly consult during the editing process.

I need to watch the cut a few times before I start to get a feeling for it. I will offer writing support on the synopsis/treatment for funding. (I have experience with grant writing and preparing a fundraiser.)

Knowledge of Canadian indie film industry
I can offer a lot of handy tips, tricks, and guidance, as well as solid hands-on tools to help you bring your film to the 'finishing stage.'
